If you experience errors when sifting with ReviewPro, please review the requirements below:

LOG IN/ACCESS ISSUES

If you experience an error when installing or opening the word Add-in, please note the following:

"This add-in is no longer supported on this application"

This error message means the user's Office version does not meet the minimum API requirements.

Common Causes: Office Version Too Old

  • Office 2016 and earlier do NOT support WordApi 1.4

  • Office 2019 requires build 16.0.11629 or later

"Add-In Error: This add-in could not be started"

is a common error message in Microsoft Office applications (like Word) when an Office Add-in fails to load. Common causes and solutions include:

  1. Internet Connectivity: Ensure you have a stable internet connection, as many add-ins require online access.

  2. Office Updates: Make sure your Office application is up to date. Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

  3. Add-in Disabled: Check if the add-in is disabled. Go to File > Options > Add-ins, and manage COM Add-ins or Office Add-ins to enable it.

  4. Browser Compatibility: Office Add-ins use Internet Explorer or Edge WebView. Ensure your system supports the required browser technology.

  5. Corrupted Add-in: Try removing and reinstalling the add-in.

  6. Permissions: Some add-ins require specific permissions. Make sure you have the necessary rights to use the add-in.

  7. User logged out of MS 365 Ensure you are logged in to your Microsoft account and there is no error While in a document: File>account> check user card

DOCUMENT ERRORS

The document must be a .docx file.

Other extensions (such as .doc and PDF) are not supported. However, you can easily convert PDF files to .docx using Word’s native conversion functionality.

To convert a PDF file to .docx:
► In Word: click File → Open → Browse (to find files) → and select the PDF file you want to convert.
► Word will present a popup, indicating that it will convert the PDF file.
► Click OK to convert the file.
► Click Save to ensure it is saved as a .docx file before you Sift.

The document must be saved before Sifting.

In order to Sift a document, you must first save it either to a local drive or a remote drive such as OneDrive. If opening .docx files directly from email, please save the file to a drive before Sifting.

Make sure the document isn’t read-only or still in Protected View.

ReviewPro will need to edit your file. If you see “Enable Editing” in the yellow bar, click it before you open the add-in.

Make sure the contract does not have pre-existing redlines.

ReviewPro cannot yet Sift documents with pre-existing redlines. Instead, you can accept or reject the preexisting redlines prior to Sifting.
(NOTE: We know that users will want to be able to Sift pre-redlined documents. This will be added to our product roadmap.)

Be aware of content controls & macros.

ReviewPro can Sift documents with content controls and macros; however, the redlines near the content control or macro may show strange behavior, such as code-like or gibberish redlines, or an “Unknown: Field Code Changed” message.
